Educational Workshop for High School Students to Explore Various Engineering Fields

Our Educational Workshop titled "About Engineering Majors" held on August 17, 2023 was a wonderful opportunity for high school students to explore various engineering fields and get to know the different majors closely, helping them choose the most suitable field based on their interests and abilities.

The workshop was filled with engaging and interactive lectures, where engineers explained each major in a simple and easy-to-understand way, aiming to help students understand the details of each engineering field, its importance in the practical world, and the skills and abilities required. This workshop was not only about shedding light on engineering majors but also giving students the chance to ask questions and learn about the pros and cons of each major, allowing them to make an informed decision on the one that aligns with their ambitions.

The following engineering majors were discussed, and each presenter provided an overview of their field:

  • Mohammad Sikkik on Systems Simulation, where he explained how this field deals with designing and simulating complex systems using specialized software.
  • Nada Abu Zaid on Cybersecurity Engineering, focusing on the importance of protecting data and networks in the era of advanced technology.
  • Mahmoud Abu Rjeila on Civil Engineering, where he clarified how to design and build essential structures such as bridges, roads, and buildings.
  • Mohammad Al-Dib on Medical Equipment Engineering, explaining how medical devices are developed and designed to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Alaa Belawi on Intelligent Systems Engineering, discussing how systems that rely on artificial intelligence are designed to improve processes and operations.
  • Abdullah Abu Ishaq on Mechatronics Engineering, where he explained how this field combines mechanics, electricity, and programming to design multifunctional systems.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the amazing presenters who enriched the workshop with their experiences and knowledge, making complex topics easy to understand.

We thank everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this inspiring workshop. We encourage all students to continue learning and discovering until they find the major that matches their interests and future aspirations. Let us continue to support our students and provide them with the necessary tools to build a bright and promising engineering future.
